The frame is 2-1/8 inch commercial grade aluminum holding tempered glass or acrylic. - You have a single-car opening up to 10’2″ wide and want a door with no center stile at all, depending on model and height.
- If the garage is attached and shares a wall with living space you keep warm, a Clopay Canyon Ridge Carriage House or Bridgeport Steel door with 2 inch Intellicore foam will insulate far better than any glass door.
Design Options
Design choices come down to glass, frame color and hardware. Glass options include clear, gray or bronze tint, laminated, mirrored and Midnight Gray. Acrylic comes in clear, white, gray, black, bronze and frosted. For the frame, choose clear, bronze, black or dark bronze anodized, standard white, or painted bronze or chocolate, or order a ColorBlast custom color.
Solid aluminum panels painted to match the frame can go where you need privacy. An aluminum grip handle is optional. We help you decide between the standard and insulated model at the estimate.

The Sleek uses slim horizontal windows and keeps vertical stiles to a minimum, so you get broad, open views. The regular Avante has a more traditional grid of glass panels. Both use the same 2-1/8 inch aluminum frame and similar glass and finish choices.
If your garage is attached, we usually suggest it. The AZ6U adds Intellicore polyurethane foam inside the stiles and rails and reaches an R-value of 3.8 with clear insulated glass. It will not match a thick steel door, but it helps with drafts.
It depends on the model, height and width. Single-car doors up to 10’2″ wide can have no center stile. Double doors get one, and doors up to 22’2″ wide get two evenly spaced stiles. We confirm the layout when we measure.
