Huron County lies south of Erie County in north-central Ohio. Norwalk is the county seat and largest city, the 2020 census counted 58,565 residents, and the county makes up the Norwalk micropolitan area within the Cleveland-Akron-Canton combined region.
Many homes here have detached garages, and many farms have outbuildings with sectional doors. We repair springs, cables, rollers, tracks and openers in Norwalk, Bellevue, Willard, New London, Monroeville, Wakeman and every township, install new doors, with same-day service on most calls, often within 1 hour.

We handle broken springs, snapped cables, worn rollers, bent track and openers that ignore the remote, on houses, detached garages and farm outbuildings.

We measure the opening and install a door that fits, from basic steel to insulated Clopay models, with a LiftMaster or Genie opener if you want one. See installation.
The county honors the Huron people, more correctly called the Wendat, or by the name of their successors, the Wyandot, an Iroquoian-speaking tribe who lived across much of the Great Lakes region. The word "Huron" may be French, though that origin is disputed.
In the late 18th century this land lay in the Northwest Territory, in the part of the Connecticut Western Reserve known as the Firelands. In 1792 the Connecticut legislature set aside 500,000 acres at the western end of the Reserve, first called the Sufferers' Lands, to repay people from Norwalk, Danbury, New London, Fairfield, Ridgefield, Groton, Greenwich and New Haven whose homes were destroyed by British forces in 1779 and 1781. The Connecticut Land Company bought the land in 1795 for resale, and it was later managed by a land company of its own. That is why so many Huron County townships carry Connecticut place names. The Firelands also took in Danbury Township on the Marblehead Peninsula and much of Catawba Island Township, both now in Ottawa County, yet most of the settling did not happen until after the War of 1812.
Huron County dates from 1809 and was organized in 1815. In 1838 its northern third became part of the new Erie County. Today Huron County has three cities, Bellevue, Norwalk and Willard, and villages that include Greenwich, Milan, Monroeville, New London, North Fairfield, Plymouth and Wakeman, along with nineteen townships from Bronson and Clarksfield to Townsend and Wakeman. Celeryville, Collins, Holiday Lakes and New Haven are census-designated places.
Huron County is 0.7% water, and its streams run north toward Lake Erie. The East Branch of the Huron River rises west of Fitchville, flows west to North Fairfield, then bends north through Peru Township and Norwalk on the way to Milan. The West Branch rises in Richland County's Blooming Grove Township and comes north through New Haven, passes east of Willard and continues north through Greenfield, Peru and Ridgefield townships. On the county's east side, the Vermilion River flows north past Wakeman toward Lake Erie; its name comes from the reddish clay along its route, and it is often muddy after a rain.
Flat, open farmland lets winter wind drive snow against garage doors, and gravel drives send grit into the tracks. Bottom seals freeze to the slab, rollers wear, and worn-out springs let go in the cold. A tune-up before winter keeps a door balanced and quiet.
U.S. Route 20 crosses the county, U.S. Route 224 runs east and west through the south, and U.S. Route 250 links Norwalk north to Sandusky and south toward Wooster.
State routes 4, 13, 18, 60, 61, 99, 103, 162 and 269 connect the villages and farms. The Norwalk-Huron County Airport is east of downtown Norwalk.
Norwalk had 17,068 residents in 2020, Bellevue 8,249 and Willard 6,197, followed by New London with 2,416, Monroeville with 1,300 and Wakeman with 990.
Norwalk and five other Huron County towns have a page on our site. The county's remaining villages and townships are listed after them, 29 places in all.

Installed new door & opener. Great service from initial service appt to installation.
Excellent service and highly recommended! I called them initially for routine garage door maintenance, but during the inspection, they identified that the spring was broken. I had been experiencing issues in the past with the garage door not opening or closing properly, and they were able to identify the underlying problem quickly. They recommended replacing the spring with higher-quality rods and drums, and I’m very happy with the result. I could immediately feel the difference after the repair—the garage door feels much stronger, smoother, and more secure than before. The team was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain what needed to be done and why. I really appreciate their honest recommendation and quality of work. Great experience from start to finish. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing garage door repair or maintenance!

Yes. Norwalk, Bellevue, Willard, New London, Monroeville, Wakeman and every township in the county are in our area.
If it’s a sectional overhead door, yes. Springs, cables, rollers, tracks and openers on outbuildings are handled just like a house door, and a door that has rusted or been damaged beyond repair can be replaced.
Yes. The estimate is free anywhere in Huron County, whether the door is on the house or a machine shed.
Cold stiffens lubricant and makes springs work harder, and an old spring often breaks then. Don’t force the door; call us and we’ll replace what failed.
Huron County has seven neighbors. Four are in our service area:
Norwalk, Bellevue, Willard or a farm road in between, call and a technician heads your way 24/7.
