Perrysville, the Commodore Perry village on the Black Fork, had 729 residents in 2020 and is Ashland County's third largest municipality after Ashland and Loudonville. The river skirts its southwestern edge. In 2010 the village had 326 households spread across 372 housing units.
Village houses and Green Township farms both lean on their garage doors every day. When one breaks, call for same-day service on most calls, often within 1 hour in Perrysville.

For an older opening we size a new Wayne Dalton, Amarr or Clopay door to fit, insulated if the garage is attached, and can add a LiftMaster or Chamberlain opener. Details: installing a door, installing an opener.
The area was first permanently settled in 1810. One settler, Judge Coulter, picked out what he thought was the most beautiful spot for a village, and his neighbors jokingly called it Coulterville. The village was first named Freeport. Its present name honors Oliver Hazard Perry, who led American forces to a decisive naval victory at the Battle of Lake Erie. A post office called Perryville opened in 1820, and it became Perrysville in 1883.
Green Township itself began as part of Richland County in 1806, was settled about 1818 and became part of Ashland County when the county was formed in 1846. The village has stayed small for well over a century, from 476 people in 1880 to 836 in 1980, so many homes are older ones with detached garages and hand-me-down hardware.
The low ground along the Black Fork holds frost and fog on winter mornings. Moisture settles into springs and hinges and freezes the bottom seal, so rust and ice do most of the damage here.
Keep the threshold clear of snow, and schedule a pre-winter service before the first hard freeze.
Public schooling began in 1816, when Asa Brown taught in the first schoolhouse on what was then a farm. An academy opened on November 14, 1865, and got its own building in 1869. Schoolhouses followed in 1871 on West Third Street, in 1882 and in 1924, and the school teams were the Admirals, after Commodore Perry. In 1961 Perrysville merged with Loudonville to form the Loudonville-Perrysville Exempted Village School District, and the old high school became Perrysville Junior High in 1988.
Pleasant Hill Lake, a 783-acre lake near the village, straddles the line between Ashland and Richland counties. Its dam on the Clear Fork of the Mohican River was completed in 1936 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for flood control. Mohican Forest and Malabar Farm are nearby, and explorer Jedediah Smith and author Rosella Rice both came from Perrysville.

Yes, as long as it is a sectional overhead door. Barn and shed doors get the same spring, cable, roller and opener work as house doors.
Usually. We confirm the door moves freely by hand and the ceiling can hold a rail, then install the opener and safety sensors.
