Berlin Heights is an Erie County village of 651 people (2020) in the south of Berlin Township, and it belongs to the Sandusky metropolitan area. It lies on State Route 61, between Norwalk and Vermilion, with Ceylon Junction to the north and Teaco Junction to the south. Its 2010 count: 269 households in 282 homes, 62.1% married couples, 37.2% raising children, median age 40.2.
Small as it is, the village has plenty of garage doors that have to work every day. If yours gives up, phone us: a Proactive technician should be pulling into your driveway the same day on most calls.

New doors come from Amarr, Wayne Dalton or Clopay (installing a new door), with LiftMaster and Chamberlain openers (opener choices).
Berlin Township was first set up about 1808 as Eldredge Township, after one of its original land speculators. Settlers who had bought their farms from him soured on the man, and the township was soon renamed Berlin. Today it stretches along Lake Erie in the eastern part of Erie County, had 3,450 residents in 2020, and shares the Mitiwanga community with Vermilion Township.
The village has never grown large; with 424 people in 1880, 625 in 1900 and a high of 828 in 1970. Many houses are older, with detached garages and original doors, and newer homes have attached garages. We repair springs, cables and openers on both.
Lake Erie forms the north edge of Berlin Township, and winter brings lake wind, snow and damp cold to the village on Route 61. Springs lose strength and seals freeze to the floor.
A fall tune-up sets the springs and greases the rollers before winter.
Berlin Township and Milan Township merged their school systems in the 1960s, and Edison High School was created in 1968 when the Berlin Heights and Milan districts consolidated. Named for inventor Thomas Edison, who was born in Milan, it serves the whole Edison Local School District; its Chargers wear blue and orange and play in the Northern Ohio Conference. Before the merger, Berlin Heights and Milan helped form the Firelands Conference in 1960. Edison's state championships include boys track and field (2002), girls golf (2016) and boys wrestling (2017, 2020 and 2024). Corporate lawyer Paul Drennan Cravath and author Emma Rood Tuttle both came from Berlin Heights.
